Josh Peck, known for his comedy days on TV, surprised fans by showing up in The Last of Us season 2. He played a FEDRA soldier in episode 4’s flashback. His scene happens in 2018 inside a military truck in Seattle's quarantine zone. Though the role lasted only a few minutes, it made a strong impression.

The Flashback Scene

Peck’s character tells a wild story to other soldiers. He speaks about catching three people handing out pamphlets. At the time, he didn’t realize they were religious. He jokes about the moment, saying, “I’m f------ easy on voters.”

He then recalls calling for backup. That’s when a soldier named Greenberg arrives, clearly angry. Peck’s character tells him the people were “disseminating.” Greenberg misunderstands the word and becomes violent. He slams one man’s head into a wall. Blood goes everywhere. “No one asked you, jizz boy,” Greenberg says, ending the story with a dark twist.

Why “Voters”?

After the story, another soldier named Burton asks why they call people “voters.” Peck’s character doesn’t know. Then Dixon, the group’s leader, explains. “We took away their right to vote,” he says. “Someone started calling them that to mock them.”

A Deadly Twist

Their armored vehicle soon stops behind a school bus. A crowd appears. Dixon breaks the rules and gets out alone. He meets a woman named Hanrahan. After talking, Dixon suddenly throws grenades inside the truck. He kills all the soldiers, including Peck’s character.

He then turns to Burton and says, “Now make your choice,” setting up what seems to be a moral test.

Game to Screen

Jeffrey Wright plays Dixon. He also voiced the same role in the original game, making him only the second actor to do so in both versions. The first was Merle Dandridge, who played Marlene in season 1.

Other characters in the scene are new to the show. Burton is played by Ben Ahlers. Hanrahan is played by Alanna Ubach. Both actors have appeared on other popular HBO shows before.

Peck Joins a List of Cameos

Though brief, Peck’s appearance joins a long list of cameos in the series. In season 1, actor Jason Ritter played a clicker. He appeared in an episode with his wife, Melanie Lynskey. Season 2 also included Jennifer Aniston’s magazine cover from 2003 in a funny nod. Actors from the games like Troy Baker, Ashley Johnson, and Jeffrey Pierce have also made appearances.

New episodes of The Last of Us season 2 air every Sunday night. Each one adds new characters and fresh storylines that keep viewers hooked.
