KFC is shaking things up by bringing back one of its most popular menu items. After a five-year absence, Chicken & Waffles will return to the menu, and it’s bringing a new treat along with it—Strawberry & Crème Poppers. Both items are available just in time for summer, offering a sweet and savory combination that fans have been waiting for.
The Return of Chicken & Waffles
KFC’s version of Chicken & Waffles includes bite-sized Liege-style waffles paired with crispy, fried chicken. The waffles are soft and sweet, creating the perfect contrast with the savory chicken. Fans' Plea Led to Its Return
This is not the first time KFC has offered Chicken & Waffles. In fact, the fast food chain first tested it out in 2019. Back then, the waffles came with a spicy twist, served alongside Nashville Hot sauce. Despite the different flavor, fans were enthusiastic about the combo, and the demand for its return has been strong ever since.
A KFC spokesperson shared that the item hasn’t been available for more than five years, but fans have consistently asked for it. “Chicken & Waffles is one of those iconic combos our fans never stopped asking for,” they explained. “We’ve been listening, and bringing it back felt like the right kind of reunion of familiarity and indulgence, all without sacrificing value.”

KFC is offering several options for those who want to enjoy the chicken and waffles. The $7 Tenders & Waffle Box includes three of KFC’s Original Recipe Tenders, a waffle, and syrup. If you prefer classic fried chicken, the $7 Two-Piece Fried Chicken & Waffle Box has the same, just with two pieces of fried chicken.
For larger groups or families, the $25 Chicken & Waffles Fan Favorites Box is the best deal. It includes four pieces of fried chicken, 12 nuggets, four waffles, and a side of four syrups or sauces.
