In Boston, Joel Embiid led the Philadelphia 76ers to a hard-fought 118-114 victory over the Celtics. Embiid showcased his range with four three-pointers and sealed the game with clutch free throws in the final seconds. The reigning MVP finished with 27 points and nine rebounds.

Tyrese Maxey was electric, scoring 33 points and dishing out 12 assists, with 13 of his points coming in the fourth quarter. Caleb Martin added 23 points, sinking seven three-pointers.

Boston’s Jayson Tatum led all scorers with 32 points and hauled in 15 rebounds, while Jaylen Brown contributed 23 points. The Celtics were dealt a blow when centre Kristaps Porzingis exited in the second half with an ankle injury.

The festive matchups also saw the Celtics don Christmas-inspired uniforms with red socks and leggings, adding a touch of holiday spirit to the intense competition.
