Alberta Lotto 6-49 Winner Scores fourth major prize

David Serkin from Lethbridge, Alberta, has once again hit the jackpot. On May 3, he won $1 million in the Lotto 6-49 Gold Ball draw. This marks his fourth major lottery win, an incredible streak that has surprised many.

Lucky Streak Over Nine Months

In less than nine months, Serkin has won a total of $2.5 million. Last year, he took home $500,000 from a Lotto Max draw in August. Then, in November, he won another $1 million from the Lotto 6-49. His first big win was 12 years ago when he won $250,000.

Despite knowing how rare winning is, Serkin still enjoys buying tickets. “I know the odds are astronomical,” he said. “I don’t think it’ll happen again, but I still like buying tickets.”

Understanding the Odds

The chances of winning the Lotto Max jackpot or a Max Millions prize stand at 1 in 33,294,800. Yet Serkin’s luck continues. He has been playing Lotto 6-49 since it first started in 1982. For him, the excitement of the game remains.

A Grateful Winner

Serkin is a cancer survivor and now enjoys retirement. He says he feels thankful for all his wins. “I’m a cancer survivor and I’m retired, so I am just grateful for all of it,” he shared.

His friends and family have been amazed by his repeated luck. After checking his ticket this time, he went for coffee with friends. “They asked to see it and said, ‘Not again?!’” he recalled.

How He’s Enjoying His Winnings

Serkin has used some of his lottery money to make great memories. He took his wife on a trip to Hawaii after his last win. Now, they plan to visit Newfoundland. “Now, we’re going to Newfoundland,” he said happily.

His winning ticket came from a Shell station on Fairway Plaza Road in Lethbridge. This lucky spot might become famous after Serkin’s multiple wins.
