Time is running out to grab your chance at owning a luxurious Muskoka cottage while helping fund vital cancer research. The Princess Margaret Home Lottery, dedicated to conquering cancer, is nearing its early bird deadline. By purchasing a ticket, you can contribute to life-saving research and possibly win the $2.8 million lakefront property.
All proceeds from the lottery support cancer research at Princess Margaret. The funds help improve detection methods, treatments, and patient care. Angela Jones, lead designer at Lakeshore Designs, highlighted the importance of this cause. “Every ticket sold goes back to that, and they are making great headway on their cancer research, which benefits all of us because it does affect so many of us in our lives,” she said.
According to the organization, global cancer cases could rise by 77% by 2050. However, thanks to ongoing research, survival rates in Canada have improved significantly. In the 1980s, the survival rate was around 50%, but it has increased to 63% in recent years.
The grand prize is a breathtaking, custom-built cottage located on Bruce Lake in Minett, Ontario. It offers four bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms, and over 3,000 square feet of elegant living space. The property also includes a gourmet kitchen, a walk-out patio with stunning lake views, and a cozy screened-in porch.
Jones described the cottage as the perfect getaway. “It’s absolutely stunning. It’s going to be perfect for any guest, whether you have a large family or a small one. I can guarantee once you get here, you probably will never want to head back to any city because it is a beautiful retreat,” she added.
Tickets are available in different packs:
- Single tickets: $100
- Three-pack: $250
- Five-pack: $375
- Ten-pack: $700
The early bird prize deadline is at midnight. The draw will take place on April 8, with the winner announced on April 10.
Jones emphasized that this lottery goes beyond winning a dream cottage. “At the end of the day, it changes everybody’s lives because cancer research is one of the most important things that we can do and give back to,” she said.
By purchasing a ticket, you not only get the chance to own a stunning lakefront retreat but also support groundbreaking cancer research that can save lives.
