McDonald’s Canada has announced a rare move to help customers manage rising living costs. Starting today, the company has locked in prices for two popular items for a full year. Canadians can continue to buy McValue® Meals for $5 plus tax and enjoy small McCafé® coffee for $1 plus tax.

This marks the first time in more than ten years that McDonald’s Canada has made a public price promise of this length. The decision comes as many households across the country watch their budgets closely. Surveys show that nearly three out of five Canadians list the cost of living as their top concern heading into 2026.

Meals available all day, every day

McValue® Meals now cover breakfast, lunch, and dinner, all at the same $5 price. Customers can order these meals any time of day at McDonald’s Canada’s 1,500 locations nationwide, whether dining in or using the drive-thru.

Lunch and dinner choices include the McDouble® McValue® Meal, Junior Chicken McValue® Meal, and Chicken Snack Wrap McValue® Meal. Each comes with small fries and a small fountain drink.

Breakfast options have expanded as well. Customers can choose from the Sausage McMuffin® McValue® Meal, Sausage McGriddles® McValue® Meal, Breakfast Burrito McValue Meal®, or a Bagel with Cream Cheese Product McValue® Meal. Each breakfast meal includes a hash brown and a small McCafé® coffee and remains available until 11 a.m. daily.

$1 coffee stays on the menu

McDonald’s Canada first introduced the $1 small McCafé® coffee in July 2024, even as coffee prices climbed globally. At the same time, the company lowered prices on other coffee sizes by about 30 per cent on average.

The company has now confirmed it will keep the small coffee price at $1 for the entire year. Customers do not need to make a minimum purchase to receive the offer.

Leadership speaks on value and loyalty

Annemarie Swijtink, President and CEO of McDonald’s Canada, shared a message directly with customers:

“Today, we make a commitment to Canadians: no matter the time of day, every day of the year, you can count on McDonald's for delicious food at a great price.

When we first opened our doors in Canada back in 1967, we began a tradition of serving great-tasting food at an unbeatable value – a tradition that still guides us today.

Together with our local franchisees, who own and operate 90 per cent of all McDonald's Canada restaurants, we're leveraging the size and strength of our Canadian supply chain to keep prices low on McValue Meals and coffee, despite inflation and rising costs, to deliver the dependable value our guests expect from us. In fact, over 80 per cent of the food and paper purchased by McDonald's restaurants in Canada last year came from Canadian suppliers.

To our guests, I want you to know that we are listening. We hear you. That's why we are making this commitment to you – because you have shown us your loyalty over the past 60 years.

This is about more than coupons and discounts. It's always about delivering value for our guests and staying true to who we are – at our core.”
