McDonald’s has decided to extend its popular $5 Meal Deal, giving customers a chance to enjoy a full meal at an affordable price well into December. This decision came after franchise owners voted to keep the promotion active in about 80% of local markets across the country. Originally introduced in June to attract inflation-conscious consumers, the $5 Meal Deal includes a choice of a McDouble or McChicken sandwich, small fries, a four-piece Chicken McNugget, and a small soft drink.
But McDonald’s isn’t stopping there. The fast-food giant plans to roll out even more deals throughout the fall, along with exclusive discounts available on the McDonald’s app. Customers can expect a variety of local deals in different regions, ensuring that the $5 Meal Deal won’t be the only option for those looking to save while dining at McDonald’s. The extension of the deal highlights McDonald’s commitment to providing value to its customers, especially in a time when many are feeling the pinch of rising prices.
Joe Erlinger, the president of McDonald’s USA, shared that the company is listening to its customers' desires for affordable options. "Value has always been part of our DNA," he said. "We’re focused on living up to that legacy and offering delicious, affordable options customers can enjoy any time they walk through our doors, go through our drive-thru, or place an order through our app." This sentiment is echoed by McDonald’s local operators who are focused on providing value to their communities. John Palmaccio, a McDonald’s owner-operator in Savannah, Georgia, emphasized the importance of offering local deals, including a 25% discount on any purchase of $10 or more in his restaurants.
In addition to the $5 Meal Deal, McDonald’s is offering various other promotions that customers can take advantage of throughout the remainder of the year. For example, "Free Fries Friday" is available through the end of 2024, giving customers a chance to score free fries every week. Furthermore, McDonald’s is running special deals tied to national food days, including a $0.50 Double Cheeseburger on National Cheeseburger Day (September 18), a $2 McCrispy sandwich for National Fried Chicken Sandwich Day (November 9), and $1 for a 10-piece Chicken McNuggets between November 4 and December 2 (with the deal available once per week).
These promotions not only highlight McDonald’s focus on offering value but also its dedication to providing customers with a variety of options that keep them coming back for more. Whether it’s grabbing a meal for just $5 or taking advantage of app-exclusive discounts, McDonald’s is ensuring that customers can enjoy their favorite fast-food items without breaking the bank.
