McDonald's partners with Angel Reese to launch a special meal starting February 10. USA TODAY

Starting February 10, McDonald's will introduce the "Angel Reese Special" in honor of WNBA star Angel Reese. This exciting new meal will feature a BBQ Bacon Quarter Pounder with Cheese, topped with a bold new BBQ sauce, along with French fries and a drink. The meal brings together a delicious combination of flavors designed to satisfy all your cravings.

Reese’s collaboration with McDonald's is historic as she becomes the first female athlete to have her own signature meal at the fast-food giant. Reese, who has been a long-time fan of McDonald's, expressed her excitement in a press release, saying, “McDonald’s has always been a big part of my life, from grabbing a McChicken Sandwich as a kid to being named a McDonald’s All American in 2020.” She added that it felt like a dream come true to be the first female athlete to be honored in this way and to be part of McDonald’s basketball legacy. Reese hopes her meal will inspire young athletes to pursue their dreams without giving up.

The new BBQ sauce used in the special is described as a "gamechanger," combining sweet, savory, and a hint of spice to complement the smoky flavor of the BBQ Bacon Quarter Pounder with Cheese. Fans will be able to grab the Angel Reese Special at McDonald’s locations nationwide, with the price varying depending on the restaurant’s location.

This new meal marks another milestone in McDonald's long history of connecting with basketball fans. Jennifer "JJ" Healan, McDonald's vice president of marketing, brand, content, and culture, emphasized the importance of supporting athletes both on and off the court. Healan expressed excitement about bringing McDonald's legacy of basketball culture to a new generation of fans through this partnership with Reese. "We want to continue to fuel their love for the game," she said, noting that partnering with Angel Reese was just the beginning.

For those eagerly awaiting the Angel Reese Special, McDonald's fans can still enjoy other options from their menu, such as the $5 Meal Deal or McDonald's new McValue menu. The McValue menu includes a "Buy One, Add One for $1" deal, which lets customers get a second full-priced menu item for just $1. These budget-friendly options allow everyone to enjoy McDonald's while awaiting the release of the Angel Reese Special.

This new partnership between McDonald's and Angel Reese highlights the connection between fast food and sports culture, especially basketball. Whether you're enjoying a meal at McDonald's or cheering on your favorite athlete, the Angel Reese Special is sure to be a hit for fans and foodies alike.
