Melania Trump made a rare public appearance in Washington, D.C. this week. She showed up to support the International Women of Courage Award ceremony. The event honored women from around the world for their bravery and leadership. Melania took part in the event, which was hosted by the U.S. State Department.
Though she hasn’t been seen much lately, Melania stood out in a bold outfit. She wore a long leopard-print coat worth $11,000. The coat was designed by Milly Park, a fashion designer based in Palm Beach. Her stylish appearance caught a lot of attention.

Melania hasn’t been living in the White House during her husband’s second term. Reports say she splits her time between their homes in Palm Beach and New York City. Still, she made time to be in D.C. for this special occasion.
During the ceremony, Melania helped present awards to the women being honored. One of the recipients was Amat Al-Salam Al-Hajj of Yemen. Melania also gave a short speech in honor of Angelique Songco, who was awarded for her work in the Philippines.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio also attended the event. He joined Melania in recognizing the courage and strength of the women honored that day.
Melania’s appearance came at a tense time in the country. Her husband’s administration has been facing backlash over many issues. These include controversial deportations and confusing executive orders. There was even a tariff placed on an island inhabited only by penguins, causing stock markets to drop sharply.
