Yoplait Canada says it is voluntarily recalling certain Yop drinks after finding a packaging flaw that might let bits of plastic get into the yogurt. Canadian Food Inspection Agency
Yoplait Canada has removed a large batch of its Yop drinkable yogurts from stores across the country. The company raised concerns after discovering that a faulty packaging part might allow small pieces of plastic to slip into some bottles. The recall covers all flavours of the 200-millilitre Yop drinks.
This move aims to protect shoppers and prevent anyone from consuming a product that may pose a safety risk. Yoplait says it acted early, before any confirmed injuries or complaints, to make sure the issue stays contained.
Which Products Are Affected
The recall applies only to Yop bottles with best before dates from Oct. 21, 2025, to Jan. 12, 2026. Stores across Canada have already been told to remove the affected products. Shoppers who purchased these items are advised not to drink them.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency now leads the recall. The agency continues working with the company and retailers to make sure the products leave shelves quickly and safely.
Company Responds to Safety Concerns
Yoplait Canada explained that the possible contamination comes from a part used in the packaging process. The company says the defect could cause plastic fragments to break away and make their way into the yogurt drink.
In a public message about the recall, Yoplait stressed its focus on protecting consumers. “The health and well-being of Canadians is our top priority,” the company said. It continues to work with food safety officers to trace and remove all affected products.
The company also says it took immediate steps to fix the issue at its production sites. It wants to reassure Canadians that the problem only affected certain batches within the listed dates.
What Consumers Should Do
People who bought any Yop drinks with the listed best before dates should stop drinking them right away. Customers can return the product to the store where they bought it. Retailers have been instructed to offer refunds or replacements.
Anyone unsure about their product can check the date stamp on the bottle. If it falls within the recall range, shoppers should treat it as unsafe and return it.
Parents of young children, who often drink Yop, are urged to check their fridges carefully. The company says it wants all affected products out of homes as soon as possible.
Safety Comes First
Food recalls happen for many reasons, and this one highlights the importance of early action. Yoplait says it responded quickly once it found the problem. Canada’s food inspection agency also moved fast to alert stores nationwide.
Yoplait remains one of the most common yogurt brands in Canada, and this recall aims to protect that trust. The company says it will continue monitoring production to ensure similar issues do not happen again.
For now, the focus stays on keeping shoppers informed and removing any remaining bottles from circulation.
