On the night of May 7 and 8, Pakistan launched a major attack. It sent 300 to 400 drones across the Line of Control (LoC) and the International Border. These drones flew into Indian airspace at 36 points. Pakistan also used heavy guns and fired shells along the LoC.

The aim was to hit Indian military camps and collect secret details. According to Indian Army officers, Pakistan used civilian aircraft as cover to launch this attack. Many drones tried to enter undetected. Indian defence teams acted fast and destroyed several drones using modern methods.

Colonel Explains Pakistan’s Move

Colonel Sofiya Qureshi shared important details. “The Pakistani army broke into our airspace across the western front. They wanted to strike army camps and observe how we respond. They even fired heavy weapons in many areas,” she said. The colonel confirmed that forensic experts are now studying the broken drones. Early reports say most of them are Turkish-made Songar drones.

India’s Quick and Tough Response

India didn’t stay silent. Its reply was firm and well-planned. Wing Commander Vyomika Singh said India used armed drones to attack four defence locations inside Pakistan. One of the drones even destroyed an air defence radar. The Indian Army also responded with strong artillery fire.

“Pakistan used heavy guns and drones to cause damage and injury. But they also suffered heavy losses in our counter attack,” said Wing Commander Singh. The Indian retaliation was swift and forceful.

Operation Sindoor Launched

This action was part of a mission called Operation Sindoor. It began on May 7 as a direct reply to the deadly terror strike in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which took 26 lives. Under this operation, India targeted nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

These camps were used to send militants into India. This was Pakistan’s second failed attempt to raise tension in just a few weeks. India ensured they faced a heavy cost for it.

Strong Words From Foreign Secretary

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri slammed Pakistan’s actions. He said Pakistan’s attacks aimed not just at the military but also Indian cities and civilians. “Our forces answered with the right amount of force and in the right way,” he said.

He also criticized Pakistan’s denial of the attacks. “Pakistan’s government is lying to cover up its own role. Their actions are not only dishonest but show how low they are willing to go,” Misri added.
