One week after Nintendo set the tone for 2026, PlayStation stepped forward with its own showcase. The PlayStation State of Play February 2026 event ran over 60 minutes and delivered a steady stream of announcements. From long-awaited sequels to surprise remasters, the presentation covered nearly every major genre. By the time it ended, fans had plenty to talk about.

Major Franchise Reveals Take Center Stage

The PlayStation State of Play February 2026 opened strongly with new franchise entries and bold collaborations. Konami hosted a mini showcase within the event, confirming a new Castlevania project developed alongside Motion Twin. The publisher also announced the first-ever port of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, included in the upcoming MGS Master Collection 2.

Capcom followed with updates on Pragmata and Resident Evil Requiem. Pragmata received a fresh story trailer that revisited its haunting futuristic city. A playable demo is now available ahead of its April launch. Resident Evil Requiem showcased a dramatic new trailer focused on Leon and Grace, teasing a return to the Raccoon City Police Department.

PlayStation Studios Expands Its Universe

PlayStation Studios delivered several headline moments during the PlayStation State of Play February 2026. Two new God of War projects stood out immediately. Sons of Sparta, a 2D side-scrolling adventure from Sony Santa Monica and Mega Cat Studios, launched instantly during the event. Meanwhile, a remake of the original God of War trilogy was confirmed through an appearance by TC Carson, Kratos’ original voice actor.

Ghost of Yotei Legends also returned with its first major expansion. The DLC introduces four-player cooperative gameplay and launches March 10 as a free update. Marathon and Marvel Tokon received smaller updates, maintaining momentum for upcoming releases.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach confirmed its PC port, featuring upscaling technology, frame generation, and full DualSense support. The PC version launches March 19, expanding its audience beyond consoles.

Kena: Scars of Kosmora opened the showcase with a gameplay-focused trailer. The sequel builds on the emotional foundation of Bridge of Spirits while enhancing combat and traversal. It launches in 2026 for PlayStation 5 and PC.

Fresh IPs and Bold Experiments

New projects also added excitement to the PlayStation State of Play February 2026 lineup. 4:Loop, from Bad Robot Games, introduced a cooperative roguelite built around a branching Probability Map. A future playtest will allow players to explore its unique structure.

Remedy Entertainment revealed more of Control Resonant, highlighting melee-driven combat in an alternate New York City. Meanwhile, Crimson Moon introduced a dark fantasy world centered on a half-man, half-angel warrior battling demons.

Beast of Reincarnation, developed by Game Freak, showcased fresh gameplay and confirmed an August 4 release. The title blends fast-paced combat with cinematic storytelling.

Remasters and Anniversary Celebrations

Nostalgia played a key role during the PlayStation State of Play February 2026. Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered arrives March 3 for PS4 and PS5, featuring enhanced visuals and restored content. Rayman: 30th Anniversary Edition launches immediately, celebrating three decades of Ubisoft’s iconic platformer with multiple versions and bonus material.

Dead or Alive 6: Last Round also received an updated edition, including improved visuals and a new photo mode. A teaser confirmed another Dead or Alive project is in development to mark the franchise’s 30th anniversary.

By the end of the PlayStation State of Play February 2026, it was clear that Sony aimed to start the year strong. The event balanced nostalgia with innovation while reinforcing major partnerships.
