The Toronto Raptors continued their dominant form, beating the Brooklyn Nets 119-109 on Sunday night. This marked their seventh straight win and their 11th victory in 12 games, cementing their status as one of the league’s hottest teams.

Barnes and Walter Lead Toronto Raptors

Scottie Barnes led the Raptors with 17 points, while Ja’Kobe Walter contributed a season-high 16. Their efforts helped Toronto maintain control despite a late fourth-quarter push from Brooklyn.

Brandon Ingram added 14 points, and Immanuel Quickley came alive in the final period, scoring eight of his 13 points to extend the lead.

Barrett Exits with Injury

Toronto’s RJ Barrett scored 16 points but left midway through the third quarter due to a sprained right knee. Barrett landed awkwardly following a fast-break dunk after a steal. His absence did not derail Toronto’s momentum, thanks to balanced contributions from the bench.

Nets’ Strong Performances

Brooklyn’s Tyrese Martin scored a season-high 26 points. Michael Porter Jr. added 25, and Noah Clowney chipped in 22.

Nic Claxton recorded 10 points and 11 rebounds. Claxton recently achieved his first career triple-double in Boston on Friday. Despite these efforts, the Nets struggled to contain Toronto’s scoring bursts.

Bench Steps Up

With Jakob Poeltl sidelined due to a sore lower back, Sandro Mamukelashvili made his first start of the season and scored 12 points. Gradey Dick also added 12, and Jamal Shead contributed 11 points off the bench.

Toronto’s bench played a pivotal role in sustaining energy, especially during critical moments in the fourth quarter.

Key Fourth-Quarter Run

Brooklyn briefly tied the game at 104 with 4:24 remaining after Porter’s layup. Toronto responded with a 10-0 run over the next 2½ minutes, sparked by two Quickley 3-pointers, effectively sealing the win.

Ingram also reached a career milestone, scoring his 10,000th point with a second-quarter three-pointer, his only basket in that period. Toronto led 65-58 at halftime, maintaining control throughout most of the game.

Roster Updates

Rookie Collin Murray-Boyles returned after missing two games due to a sore right knee, giving Toronto added depth.

The Raptors’ ability to adapt to absences, combined with bench scoring, highlights their team depth and resilience.

Raptors’ Hot Streak Continues

With this win, Toronto improves to 11-1 in their last 12 games. Their seven-game winning streak ranks among the best in the Eastern Conference this season.

Strong performances from Barnes, Walter, and Quickley, along with contributions from the bench, indicate that Toronto is peaking at the right time. The Raptors now focus on maintaining momentum as they aim for a high seed in the playoffs.
