In Ukraine, a deadly attack by Russian forces resulted in casualties and significant damage to infrastructure. In Lviv, a missile strike destroyed a building, claiming one life, while in Kharkiv, an air attack at a gas station led to another fatality. Additionally, a downed Russian drone caused a fire at an energy facility in Odesa, leaving hundreds of thousands without power.

Lviv Governor Maksym Kozytskyi reported via social media app Telegram that a cruise missile strike in the Lviv region led to the destruction of a building and ignited a fire. Rescue operations were initiated following the incident.

Meanwhile, in the Kharkiv region, Governor Oleh Syniehubov confirmed that an air attack resulted in the death of a 19-year-old individual after a missile struck a gas station.

Furthermore, Governor Oleh Kiper of the Odesa region revealed that debris from a downed Russian drone caused a blaze at an energy facility, leaving around 170,000 homes without power. DTEK, Ukraine's largest private electricity operator, corroborated the report, stating that the power outages affected a significant number of households.

Amid the escalating conflict, the Ukrainian air force reported shooting down nine out of the 11 Shahed-type drones launched by Russia overnight, along with nine out of 14 cruise missiles. These attacks mark an escalation in Russia's targeting of Ukraine's energy infrastructure in recent days, causing significant damage across various regions.

Centrenergo, a Ukrainian energy company, announced the complete destruction of the Zmiiv Thermal Power Plant in the northeastern Kharkiv region following Russian shelling the previous week. This incident resulted in ongoing power outages for approximately 120,000 residents in the region, with 700,000 initially affected by the plant's destruction on March 22.

In a message commemorating Easter, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized resilience in the face of adversity. Despite relentless attacks from Russian forces, Zelenskyy expressed determination and urged the Ukrainian people to persevere.

Meanwhile, Zelenskyy, accompanied by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and several ambassadors, paid tribute to the town of Bucha in the Kyiv region, commemorating its liberation from Russian forces two years ago. Bucha's liberation highlighted the brutality of Moscow's military campaign, with Ukrainian troops discovering numerous casualties, including men, women, and children, following the town's recapture.

In Russia, the Ministry of Defense reported that 10 Czech-made Vampire rockets struck the Belgorod region, injuring one woman and causing a fatality in villages along the Russian border. Concurrently, Russian President Vladimir Putin initiated the country's annual spring recruitment season, drafting 150,000 conscripts as tensions with Ukraine continue to escalate.

The increased military activity in both Ukraine and Russia underscores the ongoing conflict and the significant humanitarian toll it continues to exact on civilians in the region.
