Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling enjoyed a family day out at the 2024 Olympics in Paris, marking their first public appearance together in nearly a decade.
Accompanied by their daughters, Esmeralda, 9, and Amada, 8, the couple attended the women's gymnastics uneven bars final at Bercy Arena. In an exciting competition, Team USA's Suni Lee earned the bronze medal, China's Qiu Qiyuan took silver, and Algeria's Kaylia Nemour claimed the gold.
Later, Eva, 50, and Ryan, 43, were also seen at the Equestrian Dressage Individual Grand Prix Freestyle event held at Chateau de Versailles. Germany's Jessica von Bredow-Werndl won the event, with her teammate Isabell Werth finishing second, and Britain's Charlotte Fry taking bronze.
The couple, who have been together for at least 12 years, have largely kept their relationship and family life private. Eva stepped away from acting to focus on motherhood, and the pair have seldom been seen in public in recent years. Their last public appearance was in 2015 at a Q&A event for the movie "Lost River," Ryan's directorial debut, during the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas.
Their first and only red carpet appearance together was in 2012 at the premiere of "The Place Beyond The Pines," where they co-starred. The film's set is where their romance blossomed, and they decided to start a family together.
In a 2023 interview with GQ, Ryan shared his feelings about fatherhood, saying, "I wasn't thinking about kids before I met her, but after I met Eva, I realized that I just didn't want to have kids without her. There were moments on 'The Place Beyond the Pines' where we were pretending to be a family, and I didn't really want it to be pretend anymore. I realized that this would be a life I would be really lucky to have."
In a 2019 interview with Women's Health, Eva shared similar sentiments, stating, "I never thought about becoming a parent until I met Ryan. Then it made sense for me to have...not kids, but his kids. It was very specific to him."
