Earlier this week, Samsung launched the Galaxy A15 5G in India, sporting a MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ SoC and a 50-megapixel triple rear camera setup. There are indications that the South Korean smartphone giant might introduce a new model, the Galaxy M15, possibly as a revamped version of the Galaxy A15. Speculations suggest the alleged Galaxy M15 could boast a larger battery compared to its Galaxy A series counterpart, which houses a 5,000mAh battery.
According to a GalaxyClub report via Sammobile, the Galaxy M15 is rumored to emerge as a rebranded edition of the Galaxy A15, featuring a beefier 6,000mAh battery. In contrast, the Galaxy A15, whether in its 4G-only or 5G variants, incorporates a 5,000mAh battery.
Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy A15 will receive up to five years of security updates and four years of OS upgrades. It is presumed that the company might promise similar support for the anticipated Galaxy M15. Previously, Samsung rebranded the Galaxy A14 as the Galaxy M14.
Should the Galaxy M15 indeed be a rebranded version of the Galaxy A15, both devices will share identical specifications. The Galaxy A15, recently unveiled, starts at Rs. 19,499 for the base variant offering 8GB RAM + 128GB storage and goes up to Rs. 22,499 for the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage model.
Running on Android 13-based One UI 5, the Galaxy A15 features a 6.5-inch full-HD+ Super AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 800 nits. Under the hood, it houses an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ chipset, with storage options up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.
The camera setup of the Galaxy A15 5G comprises a 50-megapixel primary camera, a 5-megapixel secondary sensor, and a 2-megapixel shooter. For selfies, it boasts a 13-megapixel front camera. Powering the device is a 5,000mAh battery with support for 25W fast charging.
