A nationwide recall has been announced for Rana's Tagliatelle Seasoned White Chicken & Mushroom Sauce due to potential listeria contamination.
According to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), people are advised not to consume, sell, serve, or distribute the affected product.
The recall applies to 1.14 kg packages with best-before dates ranging from October 10 to November 16.
Listeria monocytogenes, the bacteria linked to this recall, can contaminate food without altering its appearance or smell, yet still cause illness. Those at higher risk include pregnant women, the elderly, and individuals with weakened immune systems. Symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headaches, and stiff neck.
While no illnesses have been reported so far, the CFIA advises consumers to discard the product or return it to the place of purchase. If anyone feels unwell after consuming the product, they should seek medical advice.
The recalled product has the UPC code 8 77448 00481 1.
