Selena Gomez, the 31-year-old star of "Only Murders in the Building," has decided to take a step back from social media. In a recent update on her Instagram Story, Gomez shared a video of her boyfriend, Benny Blanco, playing with children, along with a message stating, "I'm off social for a while. I'm focusing on what really matters."

This move echoes Gomez's previous breaks from social media, having taken hiatuses in February and October of the previous year. In the accompanying video, Gomez made it clear that her current focus is on aspects of her life that hold significant importance to her.

A central figure in Gomez's life during this period appears to be Benny Blanco, whom she began dating in June. Despite facing a loss at the Golden Globe Awards, Gomez found comfort in Blanco's company. She even shared a photo on her Instagram Story of them sharing a kiss, humorously declaring, "I won."

Gomez's decision to step back from social media follows her notable presence at the Golden Globes, where she engaged in a whispered conversation with Taylor Swift and Keleigh Teller. The moment fueled fan theories, including speculation about an interaction with Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner. However, it has been clarified that Gomez never approached Chalamet or Jenner for a photo. Chalamet himself dispelled the theory, stating there is no issue between him, Gomez, and Jenner.

In response to online speculation, Gomez clarified in the comments section of an Instagram post that the whispered conversation with Swift was about her two friends' relationship, emphasizing that it's a private matter. As Gomez takes a break from social media, it seems she aims to prioritize personal connections and experiences over the public platform.
