Shannen Doherty remains resilient and hopeful despite revealing that her stage 4 breast cancer has progressed to her bones.

In a recent interview with People Magazine, the 52-year-old actress expressed her determination to persist in her acting career, advocate for cancer research, and contemplate the broader aspects of her life despite the challenges posed by her spreading cancer.

Doherty, known for her roles in "Charmed" and "Beverly Hills, 90210," shared her strong resolve, emphasizing her aspiration to participate in clinical trials for new treatments. She is driven by a profound desire to demonstrate that she can continue working despite her cancer diagnosis.

"I am not ready to give up on life," remarked Doherty. "I am determined to continue living, loving, creating, and hopefully contributing positively to change. I am not finished—I am simply not done."

The actress has been confronting her battle with cancer for nearly a decade. Her initial diagnosis of breast cancer in 2015 emerged after her dog, Bowie, persistently sniffed her side. Subsequently, in 2016, the cancer had spread to her lymph nodes, leading to rigorous rounds of chemotherapy and radiation—eight in total.

Although she achieved remission in 2017, the following year, her tumor markers surged, indicating a resurgence. In 2020, during an appearance on "Good Morning America," she disclosed that it had progressed to stage 4, having spread from its original site, as highlighted by the American Cancer Society. Furthermore, in June, she emotionally disclosed the cancer's spread to her brain while undergoing radiation treatment in a video.

Expressing her frustration, Doherty shared her dismay at the assumptions made about cancer patients' capabilities, highlighting the prevalent misconception that a cancer diagnosis equates to an inability to function normally in life or work.

"People often stereotype cancer patients, assuming they are incapacitated and unable to work or enjoy life. They prematurely believe we're retired, done for," she expressed. "We possess vitality and a different perspective on life. We are individuals striving to work, embrace life, and move forward."

Amid these challenges, Doherty draws strength from her faith, which now plays an integral role in her life. She views her unwavering faith as a guiding force that connects her to spirituality and a higher power, offering solace and perspective during her journey.

"My most significant moments are yet to come," she reflected. "I find solace in prayer, expressing gratitude for meaningful aspects of life without overwhelming requests. It grounds me in spirituality, serving as my guiding light."
