Shannen Doherty, facing stage 4 cancer, delves into her medical journey, hosting her oncologist on her podcast. Reflecting on her past, she shares the emotional decision-making process involving IVF treatments during her marriage and its potential association with her breast cancer diagnosis in 2015.

Believing her cancer might be linked to IVF due to anecdotal evidence from acquaintances, she declined the breast cancer drug Tamoxifen after achieving remission in 2017, based on her hypothesis that IVF hormones could elevate cancer risks.

Acknowledging her desire for a child, Doherty admits to declining medical advice regarding Tamoxifen, citing her already-menopausal status post-chemotherapy. Despite conducting research, she stands by her decision at the time, driven by the longing for motherhood and fulfilling her husband's aspirations.

Amidst her cancer's return to stage four, spreading to her brain and bones by 2023, and her divorce from Kurt Iswarienko, Doherty persists in discussing her health journey on her podcast. She hopes to shatter stereotypes about terminally ill individuals in the workplace and emphasize their meticulous attention to detail and determination.

Doherty utilizes her platform to highlight her experiences, aiming to assist others navigating similar challenges, be it family members or patients themselves. Her podcast focuses on her entire life, with a significant emphasis on her cancer journey, intending to offer guidance and support to those undergoing similar struggles.

Despite her health battle, Doherty remains steadfast in her aspiration to become a mother, contemplating adoption and exploring various possibilities while balancing her ongoing treatment regimen. She remains hopeful about potential treatments and clinical trials, aspiring to create a conducive environment to nurture a child if circumstances allow.
