Tom Holland begins filming ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ in behind-the-scenes clip. Sony Pictures Entertainment

Filming for Spider-Man: Brand New Day has temporarily paused after lead star Tom Holland sustained a concussion during a stunt sequence in Glasgow.

Production sources confirmed the incident occurred on Friday, forcing a brief halt in shooting while the 28-year-old actor received medical attention. Doctors diagnosed a mild concussion, and Holland is now resting before returning to set later this week.

Stunt Mishap Sparks Concern

Reports suggest the injury happened during a stunt that did not go as planned. The exact details remain undisclosed, but insiders emphasize that nobody else was hurt during the mishap. Filming adjustments are being discussed to accommodate Holland’s recovery.

Despite the accident, the actor managed to step out over the weekend, attending a charity event in London with fiancée and co-star Zendaya. The appearance reassured fans about his condition, showing him smiling and engaging with attendees.

Public Appearance After Hospital Visit

On Saturday, Holland hosted the Posh Pub Quiz, a fundraiser organized through The Brothers Trust, the charity he co-founded with siblings Sam, Harry, and Paddy Holland. Held at Christie’s auction house, the event highlighted the actor’s commitment to philanthropic work even while recovering. Zendaya accompanied him, further calming public speculation about the seriousness of his injury.

Production officials stress that the filming schedule will resume soon, with only minor changes expected. A meeting has been set to finalize adjustments for the next week.

Excitement Over Filming in Glasgow

Before cameras rolled in Scotland, Holland expressed enthusiasm about returning to on-location shoots. The last installment, Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021), was filmed largely on soundstages due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Speaking earlier, Holland shared his excitement: “Now we’re going back to old-school filmmaking. Glasgow’s streets will provide the backdrop for a massive set-piece. It feels like making the first Spider-Man again. It’s refreshing, and I believe fans will love what we’re building.”

The production’s move to Glasgow was celebrated by both locals and fans, with large-scale action sequences already being staged across the city.

Upcoming Release and Star-Studded Cast

Sony has already locked in the release date for Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The film is slated to hit theaters worldwide on July 24, 2026. The title was officially revealed earlier this year during CinemaCon, sparking buzz among Marvel fans.

The movie is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, best known for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Longtime Spider-Man producer Amy Pascal and Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige are returning to oversee the project.

Zendaya will reprise her role as MJ, while new cast members include Stranger Things star Sadie Sink and Liza Colón-Zayas in roles yet to be disclosed.

Back to Work Soon

Although the accident briefly interrupted production, Holland’s quick recovery has reassured both the crew and fans. Sources close to the actor emphasize that the break is precautionary, ensuring his health before returning to physically demanding stunts.

For now, the production remains on track, with anticipation growing for Holland’s return in the highly awaited next chapter of Marvel’s web-slinging saga.
