Former prime minister Stephen Harper has officially endorsed Pierre Poilievre as the next prime minister. Harper praised Poilievre’s leadership and political skills, saying Canada needs someone like him during tough times.

Harper made the endorsement ahead of a major rally in Edmonton. This is the first time he has joined the campaign trail since stepping down in 2015. His support comes at a crucial time, with the election drawing closer and the race between the Conservatives and Liberals staying tight.

In his statement, Harper said Poilievre has strong political experience and knows how to lead during a crisis. He also said that Poilievre understands what Canadian families are going through. Harper added that Canada faces many challenges, and the country needs a leader who offers both strength and stability.

Harper also talked about Poilievre’s record. He said Poilievre has spent years standing up for ordinary Canadians. He pointed out that Poilievre has always spoken out about high living costs and other issues that affect working families. Harper believes this is exactly what people need in a prime minister.

Poilievre welcomed Harper’s support. He said he felt honoured to have the backing of someone who led the country for almost 10 years. Poilievre said Harper brought strong leadership to Canada and helped the economy grow. He promised to follow in those footsteps and focus on helping families get ahead.

At the rally, Poilievre talked about his plans for Canada. He said he wants to lower the cost of living, cut taxes, and make life more affordable for everyone. He also said he will work to improve housing, energy, and jobs. He said Canadians deserve a leader who puts them first.

Harper’s appearance at the event got loud cheers from the crowd. Many people in the audience said they were excited to see him support Poilievre. They said it gave them more confidence in the Conservative campaign. Some even said Harper’s words helped them make up their minds about who to vote for.

This endorsement could help Poilievre gain more support, especially from older voters who still trust Harper’s leadership. With the election only weeks away, every bit of support counts.

While Poilievre focused on the economy and daily costs, his main rival also campaigned in other parts of the country. The election is heating up, and all major leaders are working hard to win over voters.

Many political experts believe Harper’s support could play a key role. They say it might boost Poilievre’s chances, especially among undecided voters. Others say endorsements don’t always make a big difference. Still, it adds energy to the Conservative campaign.

With the vote getting closer, both sides are picking up the pace. Poilievre now hopes to use Harper’s backing as a boost to reach more Canadians and convince them he’s ready to lead.
