The Nuggets Deluxe Combo includes five crispy chicken nuggets served with a beef chalupa, a crunchy taco, regular fries with nacho cheese, one dipping sauce, and a large drink, priced at $11.49. Taco Bell
Taco Bell fans have a new reason to celebrate. Crispy chicken nuggets have returned to the menu, and this time they arrive with a bold new sauce that promises extra heat. Customers can start ordering the nuggets with Hidden Valley Diablo Ranch beginning Jan. 22.
The return follows strong demand from customers who welcomed the nuggets during their earlier limited run. This comeback adds a fresh twist while keeping the familiar crunch that made the item popular in the first place.
A new sauce brings the heat
The latest addition comes with Hidden Valley Diablo Ranch, a new dipping sauce that blends creamy ranch flavor with a smoky and spicy kick. The sauce builds on the earlier Hidden Valley Fire Ranch and adds the bold heat of Taco Bell’s well-known Diablo sauce.
The result gives customers a mix of cool and fiery flavors in one dip, designed to pair perfectly with crispy chicken.
What makes the nuggets special
The nuggets use white-meat chicken and come coated in crunchy tortilla-chip breading. Customers can order them in five-piece or 10-piece portions. Taco Bell has spent the past year growing its crispy chicken lineup, offering items like chicken strips, tacos, and burritos with different sauces.
When the brand shared its plans for crispy chicken last spring, it made clear that chicken would play a bigger role on the menu. The steady flow of new items shows that the plan is in action.
Strong demand drives the return
The nuggets first appeared in December 2024 with Hidden Valley Fire Ranch. Fans quickly shared their excitement online, calling for the item to stay longer. Over the past year, customers placed more than 70 million crispy chicken orders, showing strong interest with no signs of slowing down.
Company officials say crispy chicken continues to attract both loyal customers and new visitors.
“Fueled by nonstop crispy chicken innovations across nuggets, strips, tacos, and burritos, and a slate of blockbuster sauce collaborations with Mike’s Hot Honey, Frank’s RedHot, and Hidden Valley Ranch, our crispy chicken journey is just getting started,” a spokesperson says. “Crispy Chicken remains a long-term focus for us that’s connecting with both new fans and longtime loyalists.”
Careful testing behind the scenes
Before launching the nuggets nationwide, development teams tested more than 100 sauce versions to find the right match. The effort aimed to ensure that flavor, texture, and heat all worked together.
The company also notes that about one-quarter of new customers choose crispy chicken items, pointing to a shift in how people order from the menu.
Combo meals and pricing details
Customers can order the nuggets on their own or as part of combo meals. Options include fries, drinks, and classic taco add-ons. Prices start at $4.49 for a five-piece order with one sauce and go up to $11.49 for a deluxe combo with sides and a drink.
“Over the past year, our crispy chicken has built a loyal fanbase faster than we could’ve imagined—and we’re just getting started,” says Liz Matthews, the company’s global chief food innovation officer.
With bold sauces and growing demand, the crispy chicken lineup looks set to keep expanding.
