The wait is almost over for fans of The Old Guard. Netflix has just released the highly anticipated trailer for The Old Guard 2, and it promises to bring even more high-octane action. Charlize Theron reprises her role as Andy, the leader of the immortal warriors, in this thrilling sequel.

A New Threat Emerges

In the upcoming film, Andy and her team of immortals face a powerful new adversary that threatens their existence. But things get even more complicated when an old immortal resurfaces, putting the group’s mission to protect humanity in jeopardy. As the stakes rise, the warriors must navigate this newfound danger and confront their pasts.

Returning Cast Members

Alongside Theron, the star-studded cast includes Kiandra "KiKi" Layne, Matthias Schoenaerts, Marwan Kenzari, and Luca Marinelli. Chiwetel Ejiofor, Veronica Ngo, Henry Golding, Uma Thurman, and Kamil Nozynski also join the sequel, promising an even more captivating ensemble.

Behind the Scenes of The Old Guard 2

Victoria Mahoney directs The Old Guard 2, with a script written by Leandro Fernandez, Greg Rucka, and Sarah L. Walker. Producers include Theron, A.J. Dix, David Ellison, Marc Evans, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, Beth Kono, and Gina Prince-Bythewood. Rucka, Marco Valerio Pugini, and Denis L. Stewart are credited as executive producers. Based on the graphic novel by Greg Rucka, the film continues the story from the first movie, which saw massive success in 2020.

A Record-Breaking Predecessor

The original Old Guard movie, released in 2020, broke records with a staggering 72 million household views within its first month on Netflix. This set high expectations for the sequel, which was initially slated for an earlier release. However, production delays due to changes at Netflix and a halt in post-production pushed the release back.

Mark Your Calendars

Fans won’t have to wait much longer. The Old Guard 2 will be available on Netflix starting July 2. Get ready for another thrilling chapter filled with action, suspense, and immortal warriors fighting for survival.
