Canadians looking to add something sweet to their coffee break now have two new options. Tim Hortons has introduced a Custard Tart and a Pecan Butter Tart at restaurants across the country. The new items build on the strong response to the Salted Caramel Butter Tart launched last year and aim to give guests more dessert choices to enjoy with hot drinks.

The company says the new tarts suit everyday moments, from a quick snack to a simple dessert shared with others.

A classic dessert with a creamy centre

The Custard Tart brings a well-known dessert to menus nationwide. It features a smooth custard filling baked inside a flaky pastry shell. The company expects the familiar flavour to appeal to a wide range of guests.

“The Custard Tart is a beloved dessert around the world and we're excited to be serving it across Canada starting today. Our guests are going to love how the rich, creamy custard pairs with its flaky pastry shell,” says Matthew Feaver, Head of Innovation for Tim Hortons.

The tart offers a mild sweetness that pairs easily with coffee, lattes, or tea.

A Canadian favourite with a crunchy twist

Alongside the Custard Tart, the Pecan Butter Tart adds a new take on a classic Canadian dessert. This version includes a topping of candied pecans, which adds both sweetness and crunch.

“Canadians love their butter tarts and they are also going to love our new Pecan Butter Tart, which features a topping of candied pecans for a sweet and savoury crunch. Our new tarts are perfect as a treat to sweeten your day, or as an easy dessert option for your next gathering with family and friends.”

The company hopes the new tart will appeal to those who enjoy traditional flavours with added texture.

Designed to pair with everyday drinks

Both tarts were created to complement popular beverages. Guests can enjoy them alongside coffee, lattes, or tea, whether during a morning stop or an afternoon break. The company describes the tarts as simple indulgences that fit easily into daily routines.

Valentine’s season brings new merchandise

In addition to the new desserts, the company will soon release a Valentine’s-themed retail collection. The Share the Love merchandise line arrives at participating restaurants starting Feb. 2.

The collection includes a floral stainless steel travel mug, a blush-pink stainless steel travel mug with a bear charm, a colour-changing cold cup with a bear-themed straw accessory, and a ceramic mug with a colour-changing donut design. Each donut design reveals one of four characters when hot liquid fills the mug.

More gift options available online

Shoppers can also find additional items online. The selection includes pink striped pajama sets, a hoodie, a T-shirt, scrunchies, and a spa-style headband and wristband set. The items target both self-care gifts and presents for loved ones.

Sweet additions for winter gatherings

With new desserts and seasonal merchandise arriving just ahead of Valentine’s Day, the company aims to offer simple ways for Canadians to enjoy small moments of comfort during winter. The new tarts now appear on menus nationwide.
