Tom Cruise is gearing up for an exciting role at the 2024 Paris Olympics! Although the famous actor has been spotted in Paris supporting Team USA, he's actually been working on a top-secret project. According to recent reports, Cruise will be performing a thrilling skydiving stunt during the Olympics' closing ceremony on August 11.
The big finale will feature Cruise taking a daring leap from the Stade de France, swinging down with the Olympic flag. His dramatic entrance will mark the transition of the Olympic Games from Paris to the next host city, Los Angeles, for the 2028 Summer Olympics.
Cruise's stunt will start with him swinging from the stadium’s roof and then landing on the field. The ceremony will cut to a pre-recorded segment where Cruise is shown flying to Los Angeles with the Olympic flag. After arriving in LA, he'll make a skydiving jump, landing on the iconic Hollywood sign.
Photos reportedly show Cruise filming the Hollywood segment in March 2024. However, some other planned stunts were scrapped due to logistical issues, like difficulties in getting permits and concerns from the LAPD about closing down the Pacific Coast Highway.
During the ceremony, Cruise will also pass the Olympic flag to various athletes, including a cyclist, a skateboarder, and a volleyball player. This grand gesture reflects Cruise’s long-standing support for the Olympic Games. He previously carried the Olympic torch in Los Angeles in 2004, adding to his deep connection with the event.
Cruise’s participation in the Paris Olympics adds a layer of excitement and spectacle to the closing ceremony, showcasing his commitment to both his craft and the Olympic spirit.
