Former U.S. President Donald Trump strongly stated that Iran must never get a nuclear weapon. He repeated this in a social media post, saying, “IRAN CAN NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON.” Trump also said Iran should have agreed to the nuclear deal he offered. He called last week’s attack by Israel “a shame, and waste of human life.” He ended by urging, “Everyone should immediately evacuate Tehran!”

Massive Evacuations Ordered in Tehran

Tehran, Iran’s capital, is home to nearly 9.5 million people. On Monday, Israel’s military warned up to 330,000 people in central Tehran to leave the area immediately. This region includes important buildings like Iran’s state TV, police headquarters, and three large hospitals, including one run by Iran’s paramilitary force.

This evacuation warning came just before Israel bombed Iran’s state-run TV station during a live broadcast. The attack forced a reporter to flee as explosions shook the building. This strike was part of Israel’s response after Iran fired missiles at Israel, killing at least eight people.

On June 16, 2025, U.S. President Donald Trump posted a message on Truth Social telling people in Tehran to leave the city without delay. His warning came during a time of rising tension and violence in the region. Truth Social

Netanyahu Speaks on Israel’s Strikes

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said their strikes have delayed Iran’s nuclear program “a very, very long time.” He made clear Israel does not aim to overthrow Iran’s government, but added he wouldn’t be surprised if that happened as a result. Netanyahu described Iran’s government as “very weak” and said he stays in daily contact with Trump.

Air Superiority and Warnings in Tehran

Israel claimed it has air control over Tehran and can fly over the city with little risk. The military warned civilians in central Tehran to evacuate, as the TV station was used to cover Iranian military actions. Similar evacuation orders have gone out in parts of Gaza and Lebanon before strikes.

Iran’s Missile Attacks and Retaliation

Iran has fired about 100 missiles at Israel in retaliation. So far, Iran has launched more than 370 missiles and hundreds of drones. These attacks killed 24 people and injured over 500 in Israel. One missile even landed near the U.S. consulate in Tel Aviv but caused only minor damage.

Iran announced it will continue striking Israeli targets harder after suffering heavy losses from Israeli airstrikes on its military and nuclear sites. These strikes have killed at least 224 people in Iran.

Explosions Shake Israeli Cities

Explosions from intercepted missiles lit up Tel Aviv’s sky. Iranian missiles hit a residential building in Petah Tikva, damaging many homes. In Haifa, an oil refinery was hit again, killing three workers trapped inside. Paramedics reported more deaths and injuries across central Israel. Survivors like Yoram Suki, who lost his home, support ongoing attacks to protect future generations.

Signs of Potential Talks

Iran’s foreign minister hinted that the U.S. could help end the violence. He suggested a call from Washington might stop Israeli attacks and open talks. However, after intense fighting and missile strikes, Iran’s Revolutionary Guard promised even stronger attacks in the future.

Rising Human Toll and Unrest

Iran’s health officials say over 1,200 people were wounded. Fuel shortages and public unrest are growing. Human rights groups believe Iran’s reported death toll is much lower than reality, estimating more than 400 dead, including many civilians. Iran has arrested suspected spies, including one executed for espionage.
