US President Donald Trump has said that the recent conflict between India and Pakistan has been settled. Financial Express

US President Donald Trump claimed he played a major role in calming tensions between India and Pakistan. He made this statement while speaking to American troops during his Gulf visit. Trump told them things were getting dangerous, but the US stepped in before it got worse.

“I don’t wanna say I did, but I sure as hell helped settle the problem between Pakistan and India last week,” Trump said. He added both countries were happy with the result. “Let’s do trade instead of war,” he repeated twice. Trump claimed both India and Pakistan agreed with this idea.

India and Pakistan agreed to stop fighting

Just a week before Trump’s comments, India and Pakistan agreed to a ceasefire. It ended one of their worst military tensions in 30 years. Behind the scenes, the US encouraged both sides to pull back. Trump said his team offered better trade deals in exchange for peace. He also warned that trade could be stopped if violence continued.

Trump told the troops, “They have been fighting for about a thousand years… Let me settle it up.” Many laughed, but some felt he oversimplified the long-standing conflict.

India responds to Trump’s claims

India didn’t stay silent after Trump’s speech. The Indian Foreign Ministry quickly replied, saying Trump’s story wasn’t fully true. Their spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal, confirmed that Indian and US leaders had spoken. But he denied that trade offers were part of those talks.

“There were conversations between Indian and US leaders on the evolving military situation,” Jaiswal said. “The issue of trade did not come up in any of these discussions.”

This is not the first time Trump has claimed he helped solve India-Pakistan issues. His earlier comments have also caused friction between Washington and New Delhi. India has spent years building trust with the US. Many experts believe these kinds of remarks hurt that progress.

Trump takes a swipe at India on trade

In another speech during his tour, Trump also criticized India’s trade practices. He said he told Apple CEO Tim Cook not to expand production in India unless it benefits the local market. Trump claimed India has high tariffs and said he didn’t like US companies moving production there.

“You’re my friend, I’ve treated you well, but I hear you’re building all over India,” Trump told Cook. “I don’t want that unless it’s for India.”

He also claimed that India had agreed to drop all tariffs on US products. This statement has not yet been confirmed by Indian officials.

Trump’s comments, both about peace and trade, are making headlines around the world. Some see him as trying to take credit. Others believe these statements may harm international ties if not handled carefully.
