Xavier Trudeau, son of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, has officially stepped into the music scene. On Friday, the 17-year-old released his debut R&B single, Til The Nights Done. The song, available on major streaming platforms, blends moody, ambient beats and showcases his unique artistic style.

Making a Statement
Xavier wastes no time addressing comparisons to his famous father. In the song’s lyrics, he confidently states, "What you know about me, I ain't like him," making it clear that he is carving his own path.

In this context, Music industry expert Eric Alper says, he believes this self-awareness is crucial. When stepping into the public eye, acknowledging who you are and who people think you are is key. Xavier does that well in this track.

Independent Route Over Major Labels
Despite having access to major record labels like Universal, Xavier chose to remain independent. His debut was produced by Vishal "Duava" Daluwatte and Joey "Tekika" Boyer, co-founders of Ottawa-based Pathway Music Group.

Alper sees this as a bold move. “His last name will get him attention, but from there, it's up to him to prove himself. And I think he has the vibe and talent to do just that,” he said.

Family Collaboration and Upcoming Releases
Adding a personal touch to the track, Xavier’s younger sister, Ella-Grace Trudeau, provides background vocals. The music video is set to premiere on his YouTube channel at 4:30 p.m. ET.

Daluwatte describes the song as a love letter to a deep connection, reflecting both the highs and lows of a relationship. "It’s about knowing that love remains, no matter what," he shared.

Xavier isn’t stopping here. His next single is expected within a month, with more music and potential performances in the pipeline.

A Mixed Reception
Xavier’s debut comes at a time when his father faces political challenges, and social media reactions have been divided. While many praise his music, others use the comment sections to express their views on the outgoing prime minister.

Despite this, his team remains focused. "We let the music speak for itself. Xav is doing what he wants to do," Daluwatte emphasized.

A Promising Future
Alper believes consistency will be key to Xavier’s success. "If he continues strong songwriting and regular releases, he has a real chance to build his own space in the industry," he noted.

One controversy surrounding the song is its reference to smoking marijuana. However, at 17, Xavier is legally too young to partake, as the minimum age is 19 in Ontario and 21 in Quebec.

With a strong debut and an independent mindset, Xavier Trudeau is stepping into the spotlight on his own terms. Whether he can sustain this momentum will be the real test.
