YouTube has introduced a new AI support tool designed to help users whose channels have been hacked. This feature, called the “hacked channel assistant,” aims to assist affected users in recovering their accounts and enhancing their security.
Announced on Google’s support page, the new tool is part of YouTube’s efforts to offer better protection and recovery options for creators. This AI-driven assistant is available through the YouTube Help Center, where it can be accessed by those who have had their channels compromised.

When a user’s channel is hacked, the assistant guides them through a series of questions to help address the issue. The primary functions include securing the user’s Google login, reversing any changes made by the hacker, and preventing future unauthorized access. This step-by-step approach ensures that users can regain control of their accounts and protect them from further breaches.

Currently, the feature is only available in English and is being rolled out to a select group of creators. However, Google plans to expand access to more users in the future, aiming to include all YouTube creators eventually.

The introduction of this AI assistant comes as part of YouTube’s broader strategy to enhance account security and support. By providing targeted assistance to those affected by hacking, YouTube hopes to mitigate the impact of such breaches and offer a more robust safety net for its user community.

For now, creators who find themselves dealing with account hacks can use the assistant to navigate the recovery process and bolster their channel’s defences. As the feature becomes more widely available, it is expected to play a crucial role in helping users manage and secure their accounts effectively.
