Curaçao celebrated a remarkable milestone in 2024, welcoming 1.57 million visitors, a 20% increase compared to the previous year, according to the Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB). This surge in tourism was fueled by both overnight and cruise visitors, with the United States emerging as a key contributor to the island’s success.

Out of the total, Curaçao hosted 700,249 overnight land-based visitors, 35,499 daytime travelers, and 834,922 cruise passengers. A record-breaking December played a significant role, as the island welcomed 73,669 overnight visitors that month, marking a 16% rise from December 2023. This was also the first time the destination surpassed 70,000 overnight visitors in a single month, further solidifying its appeal as a top Caribbean hotspot.

The United States ranked as Curaçao’s second-largest source of visitors in 2024, just behind The Netherlands. U.S. travelers accounted for a 30% year-over-year increase in arrivals, with most visitors hailing from New York, Florida, New Jersey, Texas, and Georgia. On average, American tourists stayed 6.4 nights, enjoying the island’s stunning beaches, rich culture, and vibrant nightlife.

CTB officials credited the growth in U.S. visitors to enhanced air connectivity. Airlines expanded their routes to Curaçao, adding new direct flights and increasing service frequency, making the destination more accessible than ever. This boost in air travel options contributed significantly to the island's tourism boom.

The strong performance in 2024 reflects Curaçao’s growing popularity among global travelers. Its unique mix of natural beauty, diverse attractions, and convenient travel options has made it a sought-after destination for vacationers seeking both relaxation and adventure.
