Taiwan’s tourism agency has launched its Vancouver transit campaign once again, bringing bright imagery and travel prizes to commuters across Metro Vancouver. The promotion, titled “Catch The Waves Of Wonder,” returns for a second year and runs until May 18, 2026.

This year’s campaign features a fully wrapped SkyTrain on the Canada Line, turning an ordinary commute into a moving display of Taiwan’s scenery, culture and city life.

Transit System Becomes Travel Showcase

The colourful train serves as the centrepiece of the campaign. Posters, interior ads and digital screens also appear throughout major SkyTrain stations, along with placements on the SeaBus and West Coast Express.

Commuters will notice QR codes placed on campaign materials. By scanning the codes, riders can visit the contest website and enter for a chance to win prizes, including flights to Taiwan.

The goal is simple: bring Taiwan closer to Canadians and inspire future travel.

Snap, Share and Enter

Entering the contest requires only a name and email address submitted through the campaign website. Participants can increase their chances of winning by taking a public selfie with one of the campaign advertisements and posting it on Facebook or Instagram using the hashtag #CatchTheWavesOfWonder. They may also upload their selfie directly to the campaign page.

Taiwanese airlines China Airlines and EVA Air are sponsoring the flight prizes.

Several prize draws will take place during the campaign period.

On April 27, 2026, organizers will award 20 foldable Taiwan tote bags paired with premium tea gift boxes.

On May 4, 2026, winners will receive five OhBear dual-use neck rests, 10 Taiwan sock gift boxes and 10 special OhBear gift sets. These specific prizes will go to participants who take selfies at digital screens located at SeaBus South Terminal, Moody Centre or Coquitlam Central stations.

On May 11, 2026, one winner will receive a China Airlines Premium Economy Class ticket to Taiwan.

The grand prize draw will take place on May 19, 2026. One winner will receive two EVA Air Economy Class tickets to Taiwan, awarded together.

Strong Interest From Vancouver Residents

“The return of Catch The Waves Of Wonder reflects the strong connection Vancouverites have shown with Taiwan,” said Sylvia S.H. Lee, Director of the Taiwan Tourism Administration's San Francisco Office, which oversees the Western Canada market.

“This second wave builds on last year's momentum with broader reach, deeper engagement, and even more prizes, increasing opportunities for people to picture themselves in Taiwan.”

The contest welcomes Canadian residents aged 19 and older. No purchase is required to participate. Full details appear on the campaign website.

Promoting Taiwan to Western Canada

Taiwan’s tourism agency manages travel promotion and tourism policy for the country. Its San Francisco office oversees Western Canada outreach. The campaign slogan, “Waves of Wonder,” highlights Taiwan’s coastal landscapes and vibrant culture. The agency’s official ambassador, OhBear, a cartoon Formosan Black Bear, appears throughout the campaign materials.

Canadians seeking more travel information can visit the Taiwan Tourism Information Centre in Richmond, British Columbia, or explore official tourism resources online.
