Disney Cruise Line is excited to reveal more about its upcoming ship, the Disney Destiny. Set to launch in late 2025 from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, this new vessel promises to offer a unique experience with a heroes and villains theme. Weighing in at 144,000 gross tons, the ship will be eco-friendly, powered by liquefied natural gas, and can carry up to 4,000 passengers.
One of the highlights on board will be a dining experience called Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King. This savanna-themed venue will bring the magic of “The Lion King” to life with dazzling lighting, special effects, and live performances. Guests can enjoy songs like “Circle of Life” and “Hakuna Matata” while being entertained by musicians and storytellers on stage in the restaurant.

For those with a sweet tooth, Disney Destiny will feature a new confectionery shop named Edna Á La Mode Sweets, inspired by Edna Mode from “The Incredibles.” This shop will offer handmade gelato, ice cream, cookies, candies, and specialty treats. The décor will reflect elements from the “Auntie Edna” short film, including models of Edna and baby Jack-Jack, along with modern sewing equipment and sculptures.

The ship will also have two casual cafes near the Grand Hall. Café Megara, named after the heroine from “Hercules,” will showcase a Greco-disco theme with design elements like waves on the ceiling, lightning bolts, clouds of Mount Olympus, and vases featuring the Muses. Café Merida, named after the heroine from “Brave,” will have a Celtic-inspired design.

Staterooms on Disney Destiny will be adorned with artwork celebrating Disney legends. Most will feature the cruise line’s signature split-bath concept, and many will have connecting doors for families or groups. Concierge guests will enjoy exclusive areas like a concierge lounge and a private sun deck. Their rooms and suites will have watercolour-style artwork inspired by “Fantasia.” Additionally, seven oceanview rooms located above the bridge will feature “The Incredibles” themed decorations.

The ship will also offer four royal suites with designs inspired by “Hercules,” and “IncrediSuites” with mid-century modern elements from “The Incredibles.”

Sharon Siskie, senior vice president and general manager of Disney Cruise Line, commented, “For the Disney Destiny, we will introduce brand-new cruise experiences inspired by the legends and legacies of some of Disney’s most iconic heroes and villains. From the dining rooms to the staterooms and everywhere in between, guests aboard our new ship will be surrounded by extraordinary storytelling paired with the signature service and family-fun adventures that are hallmarks of a Disney Cruise vacation.”
