Fans of Walt Disney World Resort have something new to look forward to with the upcoming Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows. Set to open its doors on December 17, 2024, this exciting addition promises a truly immersive Polynesian experience with a variety of tropical-inspired features.
One of the standout attractions in the Island Tower is the Wailulu Bar & Grill. This casual eatery, named after the Hawaiian words for water and calm, will offer guests a relaxing dining experience with stunning views of the Seven Seas Lagoon. The restaurant will serve a range of Polynesian-inspired dishes for lunch and dinner, featuring ingredients native to the region. Breakfast options, including specialty coffee and fresh pastries, will also be available. Both indoor and outdoor seating will be provided, with a spacious bar area that overlooks Cinderella’s Castle at Magic Kingdom Park.

The décor will include Polynesian-themed artwork, such as recycled fish sculptures, a grand textile piece representing a coral reef, and an abstract Polynesian Stick Chart, reflecting the ancient navigation tools used by islanders. Fans of Disney’s "Moana" will be thrilled to see a painting of the adventurous princess adorning the restaurant.

Families with young children will enjoy the new Moana’s Voyage splash area, a playful water zone featuring life-size sculptures of Moana and her canoe, directly inspired by the beloved Disney film. For those seeking relaxation, the Island Tower will also introduce the Cove Pool—a zero-entry pool designed for comfort and enjoyment. This new pool will be available to both Disney Vacation Club members and other resort guests, offering a perfect way to cool off in the Florida sun.

Additionally, the Island Tower will feature four exclusive tropical terrace gardens. These serene spaces will be adorned with lush plants, themed artwork, and special seating areas, providing a tranquil escape for families. The gardens will also offer beautiful views of Disney’s Oak Trail and Magnolia Golf Courses, as well as the Seven Seas Lagoon, making them an ideal spot to enjoy the Magic Kingdom fireworks.

With these new additions, Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows will enhance its already magical appeal, offering guests a blend of relaxation, adventure, and unforgettable views. Whether dining at the Wailulu Bar & Grill, splashing around in Moana’s Voyage, or unwinding in the tropical terrace gardens, visitors will find plenty of reasons to enjoy their stay at this enchanting new destination.
