If you happen to hear loud booms and bangs in downtown Vancouver tonight, there's no need to worry—it's just a fireworks display. Scheduled near the Vancouver Convention Centre around 10 pm, the event is authorized under Vancouver's fireworks regulations and will occur in the Burrard Inlet. Those in the vicinity should be able to observe the display, which is expected to last approximately five minutes.
A similar event took place in May 2022, though a spokesperson from the Vancouver Convention Centre clarified that the center was not directly involved.
It's important to note that these fireworks are not part of the Honda Celebration of Lights, which is scheduled for later this summer in July. If you're a pet owner in the area, it's advisable to provide extra comfort to your pets around 10 pm tonight.
