Mexico continues to see steady growth in international tourism. New government figures show strong demand from overseas visitors. Air arrivals increased again this year. Travellers came mainly from North America and Europe. Tourism officials point to trust and comfort as key reasons. The trend reflects long-term recovery and growth.
Millions arrive by air in ten months
Between January and October 2025, Mexico welcomed 16.5 million air travellers. This number exceeds last year’s total for the same period. It stands nearly 100,000 higher than in 2024. The figure also beats pre-pandemic levels. Compared to 2019, arrivals rose by 10.2 percent. Air travel remains the main entry route.
Officials praise Mexico’s global appeal
“These results confirm that Mexico is a reliable destination for the millions of people who visit us each year,” Mexico’s Secretary of Tourism, Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, said in a statement. She linked growth to visitor confidence. She highlighted comfort and safety. She also praised service quality across the country.
“Families, young travelers and older adults continue to come because they find in our country a destination full of hospitality, infrastructure and experiences that inspire peace of mind and enjoyment,” Rodríguez Zamora added. Officials expect demand to remain strong.
United States remains top source market
The United States continues to send the most visitors. About 11.157 million Americans travelled to Mexico during the period. That total rose by 62,000 compared to last year. It also marked a sharp increase since 2019. The rise reached 26.7 percent over pre-pandemic numbers. Short flights and warm weather drive demand.
Canadian travel shows strong momentum
Canada ranked second among source markets. More than 2.07 million Canadians visited Mexico by air. That marked an 11.4 percent increase from 2024. Numbers also exceeded 2019 levels by 18.1 percent. Winter travel remains a major factor. Canadians continue choosing Mexico for longer stays.
United Kingdom travel grows steadily
Travel from the United Kingdom also increased. About 372,061 British visitors arrived during the ten-month period. That number rose by 3.2 percent year over year. UK travel growth remains slower than North America. Still, officials welcomed the continued rise. Long-haul confidence appears to be returning.
Other markets add to total growth
Mexico also attracted more visitors from other regions. Italy posted a 14.8 percent increase. Argentina followed with a 14.3 percent rise. South Korea showed an 11.6 percent gain. China arrivals grew by 10.6 percent. Combined, these markets delivered 2.9 million visitors.
Tourism supports broader economy
Tourism plays a key role in Mexico’s economy. Air arrivals support hotels, airlines, and local jobs. Officials credit improved infrastructure and services. They also point to diverse travel options. Beach, culture, and city travel all contribute. The outlook remains positive for the coming months.
