Naomi Watts made a memorable entrance at the New York premiere of The Friend, but she wasn’t alone. The actress shared the spotlight with her giant co-star, Bing—a 145-pound Great Dane. The duo turned heads as they walked the red carpet in matching outfits, creating a charming and stylish scene.
The Friend, directed by Scott McGehee and based on Sigrid Nunez’s 2018 novel, tells the story of Iris, a writer and teacher whose life takes a turn when she inherits her late friend’s enormous dog. The film hits US theaters on March 28 and will be released in the UK on April 25.
At the premiere, Watts and Bing seemed perfectly in sync. The actress wore a white Jacquemus haute couture gown with black, fur-like polka dots, mirroring Bing’s spotted coat. Their coordinated look sparked comparisons to 101 Dalmatians, but Watts’ playful bond with Bing was nothing like the sinister Cruella de Vil. The two exchanged paw-shakes, puppy kisses, and plenty of affection, making for heartwarming photos.
