Orlando, Florida, ranks as one of the top holiday destinations for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Eve, with its vibrant holiday celebrations attracting visitors from around the world. Known for its iconic theme parks, Orlando offers a range of unique festive events that make it an unforgettable place to experience the magic of the season.
Casandra Matej, President and CEO of Visit Orlando, highlights the city's charm, noting, “Orlando is a unique destination for travellers over the holidays because of our extensive range of festive offerings—from breathtaking fireworks to grand lighting displays at our theme parks and beyond—all with the backdrop of warm sunny skies and palm trees.” With activities starting as early as mid-November, Orlando sets the stage for an exciting holiday season.

Walt Disney World Resort offers a series of enchanting events. One of the highlights is Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom Park. This ticketed event, running from November 8 to December 20, invites guests to experience a magical holiday atmosphere with entertainment like the “Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas Parade,” fireworks, stage shows, and character meet-and-greets.

For a glamorous twist on holiday cheer, Disney Jollywood Nights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios brings Hollywood glamour together with holiday magic. Taking place from November 9 to December 21, this event features exclusive shows like “Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!” and “What’s This? Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Sing-Along,” along with more than 20 unique character encounters and themed photo ops.

At EPCOT, the International Festival of the Holidays, running from November 29 to December 30, celebrates holiday traditions from around the world. The Candlelight Processional, featuring a celebrity narrator and orchestra, is a standout, along with holiday storytellers and a festive atmosphere. Visitors can also enjoy holiday delicacies at the Holiday Kitchens across the World Showcase.

Meanwhile, at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, from November 12 to December 31, the park is transformed into a winter wonderland with attractions like the Merry Menagerie, featuring artisan-sculpted puppets of arctic animals. The Tree of Life Awakenings light show brings the iconic tree to life, and visitors can meet Mickey and Minnie in their holiday attire.

Universal Orlando Resort embraces the spirit of the holidays with Grinchmas at Universal's Islands of Adventure. This event, with its whimsical decorations and “Grinchmas Who-liday Spectacular” live show, brings Dr. Seuss’ Whoville to life. Guests can also enjoy Christmas in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, where Hogwarts Castle is illuminated for the holidays, and both Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley are transformed with festive decor. Universal Studios Florida hosts a Holiday Parade featuring Macy’s, complete with towering balloons, floats, and a special appearance by Santa Claus.

At SeaWorld Orlando, the Christmas Celebration runs from November 16 to January 5, transforming the park into a holiday wonderland with millions of lights and live seasonal entertainment. Visitors can enjoy shows like “O Wondrous Night” and “Sesame Street Christmas Parade,” as well as meet holiday favourites like Rudolph and Santa Claus.

Lastly, Legoland Florida offers a brick-themed holiday experience from November 29 to December 31. The park is decked out with dazzling lights and LEGO-built sculptures, including a massive Christmas tree made entirely of LEGOs. Visitors can enjoy fun activities like the Elf Training Academy and an early New Year’s Eve celebration for kids.
