Air Canada is gearing up for its biggest winter expansion ever. For the 2025-26 season, the airline is introducing 13 new routes and four brand-new destinations. This bold move will boost its seat capacity in Latin America and the Caribbean by 16%. The expanded schedule will offer Canadians more ways to escape the cold or travel for business during the winter months.

The new flights are already available for booking on Air Canada’s website and through travel agents. The winter schedule now offers increased connectivity and convenience to sun-soaked beaches and bustling cities alike.

Big Moves in Latin America and the Caribbean

Air Canada is extending its wings to more parts of Latin America and the Caribbean. New cities added to the map include Santiago, Pointe-à-Pitre, Fort-de-France, Nassau, Montego Bay, and Huatulco. On top of that, four exciting destinations—Rio de Janeiro, Cartagena, Guatemala City, and Guadalajara—have been added to the airline’s network.

With these additions, Air Canada will operate over 55 daily flights and exceed 80,000 weekly seats in the region. This move is in direct response to growing demand from both tourists and business travelers.

Connecting Canada to South America

The airline is launching direct services to South America’s vibrant hubs. Toronto will now connect to Rio de Janeiro three times a week using the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner. These flights will operate from December 4, 2025, to March 2026.

Montreal will also see new service to Santiago, operating three times weekly from December 16, 2025, through February 2026. Additionally, Cartagena is joining the network with flights available from both Toronto and Montreal.

Air Canada is also ramping up its popular service to Los Cabos. Expect daily flights from Toronto and five weekly flights from Vancouver.

New Caribbean Routes from Key Canadian Cities

Air Canada’s Caribbean presence is getting a major boost. New flights are being launched from Ottawa to Nassau and Montego Bay, and from Quebec City to Fort-de-France. Halifax is also getting in on the action, with weekly flights to both Nassau and Montego Bay starting December 2025.

These additions provide easier access to warm-weather escapes from more cities across Canada.

Growth in Central America and Mexico

Montreal will launch new service to Guatemala City, while Toronto will connect directly to Guadalajara. These cities are becoming increasingly important for both vacationers and the VFR (visiting friends and relatives) travel market.

Vancouver is also joining the expansion with a new weekly route to Huatulco, a popular Pacific coast resort town.

Air Canada isn’t stopping at new destinations—it’s also boosting capacity on several of its busiest routes. Toronto will see more flights to Nassau, Montego Bay, and St. Maarten. Montreal will benefit from additional flights to Punta Cana and St. Maarten.

Offering Canadians More Travel Flexibility

With this bold winter expansion, Air Canada is clearly focused on growth and meeting evolving travel demands. The new routes and added frequencies offer Canadians more flexibility, convenience, and choice during peak winter travel months.

From beach lovers to business travelers, the airline is making it easier than ever to reach Latin America and the Caribbean. This expansion reinforces Air Canada’s leadership in connecting Canada to sun destinations with comfort and style.
