Hershey Canada has revealed it will cease making Cherry Blossom candy. CTV

For many years, Cherry Blossom has been a beloved treat found on candy store shelves across Canada. However, Hershey Canada has announced that it will be discontinuing the popular confection early in 2025. This marks the end of an era for the cherished candy that combined maraschino cherries, roasted peanuts, and a smooth chocolate coating.

In a statement sent to the media, Hershey Canada confirmed the decision, leaving candy lovers with mixed emotions. “After being a cherished treat for Canadians for many years, Hershey Canada confirms that Cherry Blossom will be discontinued across the country in early 2025,” the company said. While no specific date has been given for the candy's removal, the company has assured consumers that it will be phased out in the coming months.

The announcement has sparked a wave of nostalgia, as many Canadians recall the iconic yellow cube-shaped box that housed the unique combination of flavors. For those who still crave the sweet treat, there is a limited time to stock up, as stores will be selling the candy while supplies last. "We’re pleased to let customers know it is still available in selected stores now – giving everyone a chance to enjoy it while supplies last," Hershey Canada added.

Cherry Blossom, which has been a familiar fixture in candy aisles for decades, will no longer be part of Hershey Canada's product lineup after early 2025. Despite its long history, the company has not shared any details about why the decision to discontinue the candy was made. Fans of the treat are left wondering what led to this change.

While the company is transitioning out of Cherry Blossom production, the statement did not mention if there would be any new products to replace it. For those who have enjoyed the treat over the years, this marks a bittersweet farewell to a classic confection that many Canadians grew up with.

As the final batches of Cherry Blossom candy begin to disappear from shelves, candy enthusiasts will likely make their last attempts to grab a box of the familiar treat before it’s gone for good. If you're hoping to snag some before it's all sold out, it's best to visit stores soon to enjoy the iconic combination one last time.
