Tim Hortons has once again proven the power of community giving. This year’s Smile Cookie campaign raised an astonishing $22.6 million. The funds will benefit over 600 local charities and community groups in Canada and the United States.

A Sweet Way to Give Back

Every year, Tim Hortons restaurants sell Smile Cookies to support causes close to home. Each cookie features a signature pink and blue smile. And each dollar spent on one goes directly to a local charity, handpicked by restaurant owners.

A New Fundraising Milestone

This year’s results set a new fundraising record for the campaign. Axel Schwan, President of Tim Hortons, praised the collective effort.

“We’re overwhelmed by the support from our guests,” Schwan said. “Thanks to you, we’ve topped our previous record. A heartfelt thanks to every Tim Hortons owner, team member, and volunteer who helped bake and decorate millions of cookies.”

Over $151 Million Raised Since 1996

The Smile Cookie tradition began in 1996. What started as a small act of kindness has grown into a national movement. To date, the campaign has raised over $151 million for local communities.

Funds have supported hospitals, food banks, schools, and other vital organizations. This year’s campaign alone will support over 600 groups with critical programs and services.

Giving That Feels Local

Each Tim Hortons owner selects a local cause to support. This ensures the money stays in the community where it’s raised. It’s part of what makes Smile Cookie so unique—and impactful.

In the coming weeks, local restaurants will begin presenting cheques to their charity partners. These cheque presentations celebrate the shared effort behind each cookie sold.

Behind the Smiles

What makes the campaign even more special is the people behind it. From baking and hand-decorating cookies to encouraging guests to buy them, staff and volunteers play a huge role. Their commitment is a big part of why the campaign continues to grow each year.

Tim Hortons: A Staple in Canadian Culture

Founded in 1964 in Hamilton, Ontario, Tim Hortons has become a symbol of Canadian hospitality. From Original Blend coffee to Iced Capps and Timbits, it’s more than just a coffee shop.

Today, Tim Hortons operates nearly 4,000 locations across Canada and over 6,000 worldwide. It remains committed to not only serving great food and drinks, but also giving back to the communities it calls home.

The Smile Cookie campaign is more than a fundraiser—it’s a reminder of what can happen when communities come together, one cookie at a time.
