As the new year approaches, General Mills is bringing exciting news to cereal lovers. The company announced in December that it will release nine new cereals and granolas in 2025, including the return of Cheerios Protein, which had not been available for over five years. The revamped Cheerios Protein will come in two flavors—Strawberry and Cinnamon—and will feature eight grams of protein per serving. This new offering is designed to cater to families looking for tasty yet nutritious breakfast options.
Emilie Knox, Vice President and Business Unit Director of Morning Foods at General Mills, highlighted the importance of protein in breakfast. She said, "Starting the day off with additional protein can help our consumers meet their nutritional needs, especially with a reliable and delicious option from a brand they already know and love.” She also emphasized that Cheerios Protein was specifically created with families in mind, aiming to deliver both great taste and a good source of protein, all while maintaining the familiar shape of Cheerios.
Along with Cheerios Protein, General Mills is introducing several other new cereals:
- Bluey Cereal: A fun, lightly sweetened corn cereal based on the popular children's TV show Bluey, promising to inspire "Dance Mode" after breakfast.
- Cheerios Oat Crunch Chocolate: A sweetened multigrain cereal coated with cocoa, offering a fulfilling and flavorful start to the day.
- Strawberry Vanilla Chex: A nationwide release of this previously Sam’s Club-exclusive cereal, combining strawberry and vanilla flavors, perfect with milk or as a snack.
- Nature Valley Dipped Granolas: Available in two flavors—Double Chocolate and Salted Caramel—both offering nine grams of protein per serving.
- Cascadian Farm Granolas: Two new family-sized varieties, Oats and Honey and Fruit and Nut, rounding out the nine new products.
These exciting new products provide a variety of delicious and nutritious options for cereal lovers, from protein-packed Cheerios to fun, family-friendly Bluey Cereal. General Mills’ latest offerings are sure to make mornings even better in 2025.
