A nationwide recall has been issued for Swiss Chalet-brand frozen chicken breast nuggets due to possible bone fragments in the product. The recall was announced by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) on Wednesday.
Reports of Injuries
The agency confirmed that there have been injuries linked to consuming the affected nuggets. However, it did not specify how many people were injured or the severity of their injuries.
The recall applies to 700-gram packages of the product. The affected items have the UPC 066701011479 and best-before dates of September 7, 2025, and September 26, 2025. The nuggets, made by Olymel, come in fun shapes like stars, moons, and planets.
What Consumers Should Do
People who have purchased the recalled nuggets should throw them away or return them to the store where they bought them. The CFIA warns against consuming, selling, serving, or distributing the affected products.
The agency is currently investigating the issue. More products could be recalled if necessary. It is also ensuring that stores and businesses remove the affected products from shelves.
Company Background
Olymel, the manufacturer of the nuggets, operates in several Canadian provinces, including New Brunswick, Quebec, Ontario, and Alberta. The company has a workforce of 12,000 employees across its plants, offices, and distribution centers.
