Perdue Foods has announced a recall of several frozen chicken products after metal fragments were discovered in some of the items. This recall affects specific batches of their chicken nuggets and tenders, which were distributed across the United States and sold both in stores and online.
According to the United States Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), the recall includes:

  • Perdue Simply Smart Organic Breaded Chicken Breast Nuggets: Best if used by March 23, 2025.
  • Perdue Chicken Breast Tenders: Best if used by March 23, 2025.
  • ButcherBox Organic Chicken Breast Nuggets: Best if used by March 23, 2025.

In total, Perdue is recalling approximately 167,171 pounds of these chicken products. The products are labelled with the establishment number P-33944.

The recall was triggered by multiple reports of metal wire being found in the chicken products. Fortunately, no injuries or adverse reactions have been reported so far.

Customers who have purchased these affected products are advised to either dispose of them or return them to the store for a refund.

The recall highlights the importance of food safety and the quick action taken by companies and regulatory agencies to protect consumers. Perdue and FSIS are working together to ensure that the affected products are removed from the market to prevent any potential harm to the public.
