Goldfish is bringing back a fan-favorite snack that has everyone buzzing. Next month, the brand will reintroduce its Hello Kitty Strawberry Shortcake Flavored Grahams, a limited-edition treat that was previously the fastest-selling limited-time item in Goldfish history.
This exciting comeback is part of Hello Kitty’s 50th-anniversary celebrations. “We’ve partnered with Sanrio once more to celebrate this huge milestone for the beloved character,” said Mike Fanelli, Goldfish’s senior director of marketing. He added that fans have been eagerly awaiting the return of this popular flavor, prompting the brand to listen to their requests.
For those who missed out last time, these grahams are inspired by one of Hello Kitty’s favorite desserts, strawberry shortcake. They offer a delicious blend of vanilla and sweetness in every bite. This special edition not only features the classic fish shape but also includes mini Hello Kitty figures, adding a charming touch that fans may find too adorable to eat.
The flavor will be available for a limited time only, starting in September at retailers across the country. Each 6.1-ounce bag will cost around $3.69, and the packaging will be bright red with Hello Kitty’s iconic image. Given how quickly the last batch sold out—in just 90 minutes—Goldfish advises fans to act swiftly if they want to snag a bag.
Fanelli believes the success of this flavor stems from its irresistible taste and the excitement generated by collaborating with Hello Kitty. He noted that combining beloved brands with pop culture trends has been a winning strategy, creating buzz and excitement among both new and longtime customers.
Although there’s no telling when or if this flavor will return again, Goldfish is known for its creative limited-time offerings, so more unique flavors are likely to appear in the future.
In 2021, a taste test ranked various Goldfish flavors, with the classic Cheddar taking the top spot as the ultimate snack. However, the Hello Kitty flavor wasn’t included in that review, so a new taste test might be in order to see how it measures up.
