Introducing the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, the latest addition to the Galaxy lineup that builds upon its predecessor's success with several enhancements. While maintaining the familiar visual appeal of the S23 Ultra, the S24 Ultra introduces notable changes to its construction and display.

One noticeable alteration is the shift from an aluminum to a titanium alloy frame, enhancing durability and scratch resistance without adding extra weight. In fact, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is marginally lighter than its predecessor, owing to its 0.3mm slimmer build and 1.1mm reduction in height, primarily attributed to narrower bezels. The device features a new Gorilla Glass Armor on the front and rear, offering enhanced durability with a 4x increase in crack resistance and a 75% reduction in reflectivity.

Addressing a preference for flat screens, the Galaxy S24 Ultra adopts a completely flat display, a departure from the slightly curved screen on the S23 Ultra. The central focus remains on the 6.8-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, now boasting a brighter 2,600 nit panel with an improved Vision Booster.

Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the Galaxy S24 Ultra distinguishes itself by utilizing this advanced chipset across all markets. The device incorporates a significantly larger vapor chamber, enhancing thermal performance for various tasks. The new chip facilitates the introduction of AI features, including Live Translate, Interpreter, and Chat Assist, supporting real-time voice and text translation in 13 languages.

Beyond language translation, the AI capabilities extend to features such as Android Auto, summarizing messages and suggesting replies. Samsung Notes incorporates Note Assist, which streamlines note-taking with summarization, templates, and pre-made formats. Additionally, Transcript Assist utilizes AI and Speech-to-Text for transcribing, summarizing, and translating recordings.

In collaboration with Google, the Galaxy S24 Ultra introduces Circle to Search, a gesture-driven feature accessible through a long press on the home button, allowing users to interact with the screen for search results.

The camera system on the Galaxy S24 Ultra integrates AI with hardware improvements. A new 50MP 5x telephoto camera enhances optical stabilization and 10x shots, complementing the existing camera array. The ProVisual Engine and dedicated ISP Block contribute to AI-powered tools, offering features like Generative Edit, Instant Slow-mo, and improved Nightography with enhanced stabilization.

The device houses a 5,000mAh battery supporting 45W wired and 15W wireless charging. Storage options include 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB, paired with 12GB of RAM. Running on Android 14 with One UI 6.1, the Galaxy S24 Ultra guarantees seven years of software support.

Available for pre-order, the Galaxy S24 Ultra comes in Titanium Gray, Titanium Black, Titanium Violet, and Titanium Yellow. Samsung continues its tradition of offering a storage upgrade incentive for pre-orders, providing a 512GB model at the price of the 256GB variant. Priced at $1,300/£1,250 for the 12GB/256GB model, or €1,450 in Europe, the device ensures a compelling package for tech enthusiasts.
