Thursday, August 14, brings back DQ Canada's 23rd Miracle Treat Day. On this special day, every Blizzard Treat sold helps raise money for local children's hospitals across the country. The money goes directly to the hospitals in the area where the treat is bought.

Hockey Star Supports the Cause
Famous hockey player Brad Marchand is proudly supporting this year’s event. Marchand, a dad from Halifax, is also a big fan of Blizzard Treats. He hopes more people will get involved. “As a dad, supporting children's health, especially through Canadian children's hospitals, is something I care deeply about,” Marchand shared. “Buying a Blizzard Treat may seem like a small thing but on Miracle Treat Day it's part of something so much bigger.”

Over 55 Million Raised Since 1984
This tradition started in 1984. Since then, Canadians have helped raise over $55 million for children’s health. That money has helped support care, treatments, and hospital needs all over Canada.

Candida Ness, Vice President of Marketing at DQ Canada, says it’s one of their most powerful campaigns. “This is one of the most inspiring days of the year for all of us at DQ,” Ness said. “Our franchisees and fans always show up in such a meaningful way and their continued support speaks to the incredible impact this campaign has had. We're proud to keep that momentum going.”

Helping Hospitals Meet Urgent Needs
The money raised on Miracle Treat Day supports what each hospital needs the most. This can include new equipment, special programs, or medical research. In 2024, Canadian children's hospitals saw over three million visits. The support from this campaign helps kids get the care they need close to home.

A Nation Comes Together
On August 14, staff, volunteers, and DQ franchisees will work together across the country. Everyone involved hopes to make a big difference by selling Blizzard Treats. The goal is to help sick children and support their families during tough times.

Why It Matters
Adam Starkman, President and CEO of Canada’s Children's Hospital Foundation, believes in the power of community. “DQ Canada has been a committed partner in children's health for more than four decades, and Miracle Treat Day is a powerful example of what happens when communities rally together,” said Starkman. “Every Blizzard Treat sold helps fuel groundbreaking research and discovery, life-changing innovations and healing environments that make the hospital experience less overwhelming for families, ultimately, helping kids get back to being kids.”

Get Involved
Buying a Blizzard on Miracle Treat Day means more than just a tasty dessert. It means helping a child get better care, stay closer to home, and feel less afraid in a hospital. It’s a simple action that can change lives.
