Fans heading to the Citrus Bowl in Orlando this New Year’s Eve will see a snack that turns plenty of heads. Cheez-It has created a Cheez-It–crusted turkey leg, a fun and loud take on a classic stadium bite. The snack arrives as part of the brand’s latest game-day takeover, which promises big flavour and playful energy.

The launch also celebrates the return of Prince Cheddward, the brand’s light-hearted football mascot. He steps back into the spotlight after a short break and plans to join fans for game-day antics and snack-themed events.

A Cheesy Twist on a Stadium Favourite

The new turkey leg features a layer of crushed Cheez-It crackers that gives each bite a sharp and crunchy coating. It sells for $25 and comes with a cranberry chutney that adds a sweet and tart balance to the cheddar-rich crust.

Cheez-It will also offer other themed dishes at Camping World Stadium, including Walking Nachos and a Pimento Cheez & Bacon Burger. These items help round out a menu full of bright colours, bold flavours, and unmistakable Cheez-It style.

For fans staying home, the brand shared a Cheez-It–breaded chicken wing recipe on Instagram. It uses the same cheese-forward crust, making it easy for people to bring the new flavour to their own living rooms. Senior brand director Cara Tragseiler says the coating “infuses every bite” with the taste fans know well.

Cheez-It and Sports Fans: A Strong Match

Cheez-It has become a game-day staple for many football fans. Tragseiler says people keep returning to the crackers for tailgates, watch parties, and home spreads. The brand sees its role as more than a sponsor, and the new turkey leg fits right into that mission.

This year marks Cheez-It’s eighth bowl season, and the brand continues to find new ways to show up with playful food ideas. The turkey leg feels like the natural next step for a company that enjoys leaning into humour and over-the-top presentation.

Prince Cheddward Steps Back In

Prince Cheddward, introduced in 2021, adds a theatrical tone to Cheez-It’s game-day presence. The mascot, known for dramatic entrances and a warm, silly charm, returns this year as a court jester. His past appearances have included zip-lining into the stadium and greeting fans with full cheese-themed flair.

He plans to greet mascots, lead snack celebrations, and surprise fans during the New Year’s Eve matchup. His personality pairs well with the new turkey leg, which carries the same joyfully oversized energy.

A Snack Trend with Staying Power

Cheez-It–breaded chicken has a long online history. Home cooks often share recipes for tenders, wings, and air-fried bites. The crackers offer a salty, cheesy punch that stands out from standard coatings. Adding that crust to a turkey leg turns a familiar idea into a stadium-ready spectacle.

The Cheez-It Citrus Bowl airs on December 31 at 3 p.m. Fans can enjoy the new turkey leg at the stadium or try the chicken wing version while watching from home. Either way, the snack promises a fun and flavourful twist on a classic game-day favourite.
