Wendy’s Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger features fresh beef topped with applewood-smoked bacon, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, and Heinz mayonnaise. The classic burger remains a popular choice for customers who enjoy a rich bacon flavour. Wendy’s

Wendy’s plans to celebrate National Bacon Day with a throwback deal that has caught the attention of burger fans. On Tuesday, Dec. 30, customers can buy a Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger for just one cent. The offer applies only through the Wendy’s mobile app and requires users to create an account and make an additional purchase.

The promotion taps into nostalgia while encouraging customers to use the restaurant’s digital ordering platform. Wendy’s has not announced any extension, making the deal a one-day event.

Bacon Takes Centre Stage

The burger chain, long known for its focus on bacon, highlighted why the ingredient plays such a central role on its menu. In a statement, the company made its position clear.

“At Wendy’s, bacon isn’t just a topping, it’s a lifestyle,” the company said in a statement. “From the iconic Baconator to the Breakfast Baconator to our bacon-loaded Breakfast Burrito, we literally own bacon.”

The Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger features a fresh, never-frozen square beef patty. The sandwich includes two strips of bacon, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise, all served on a toasted bun.

“That’s bacon done right,” the company added in its statement.

Easy Redemption Through the App

Customers must use the Wendy’s app to claim the one-cent burger. After signing up and placing a qualifying order, the discount appears during checkout. The offer does not apply to in-store purchases without app use.

Wendy’s has increasingly relied on app-only promotions as more customers choose mobile ordering. The approach allows the chain to connect directly with customers while offering limited-time deals.

Sauce Comeback Adds to the Buzz

The burger deal arrives shortly after Wendy’s confirmed the return of a popular dipping sauce that quietly disappeared earlier this year. Sweet and Sour sauce left menus in September, which led to strong reactions online.

After receiving what the company described as hundreds of comments on social media, Wendy’s decided to bring the sauce back in 2026. The announcement came through a short video shared earlier this month.

“We did it, Sweet and Sour sauce is coming back,” said Jaz Smith in the video as she dipped a chicken nugget into the sauce. “I’ve been complaining on the internet for time and time and time again for the past three months. I had a call with Wendy’s, and they agreed: the sauce does need to come back.”

Strong Fan Response

The return of the sauce and the one-cent burger promotion show how closely Wendy’s listens to customer feedback. Both announcements generated strong interest online, with fans praising the chain for responding quickly to popular demand.

As National Bacon Day approaches, Wendy’s appears ready to lean into its bacon-focused identity while offering customers a rare deal that blends nostalgia with modern digital ordering.
