MR.SUB has added a new option to its menu with the launch of MR.MONSIEUR, a limited-time sandwich inspired by the well-known French Croque Monsieur. The new sub takes a familiar comfort food and reworks it with the brand’s own approach, offering customers something both recognizable and slightly elevated.

The sandwich builds on flavors many people already enjoy while adding warmth and richness suited for the colder months.

What’s Inside the MR. MONSIE

MR. MONSIEUR comes layered with tender ham, Swiss cheese, sautéed onions, and a creamy sauce, finished with a sprinkle of Parmesan. Staff prepare the sandwich on freshly baked bread, then toast it until golden. The result delivers a warm, hearty bite that stays true to the simple appeal of ham and cheese while adding a fuller, more indulgent taste.

The flavor remains familiar, but the added layers bring a deeper and more comforting experience.

Focus on Doing the Basics Well

“Ham and cheese doesn't need reinventing; it just needs to be done right,” says Chef Anthony Leech at MR.SUB. “MR. MONSIEUR is our take on a classic: comforting, satisfying, and prepared with care. It feels familiar, but there's a delicious little extra going on.”

That philosophy shapes the new sandwich. Instead of chasing food trends, the company focused on improving something people already love.

Fired-Up Ovens Make the Difference

The launch also shines a light on MR.SUB’s Fired-Up ovens, which toast sandwiches evenly and bring out richer textures. These ovens help melt the cheese fully and crisp the bread, creating a sandwich that feels heartier and more satisfying.

This added warmth makes MR. MONSIEUR is especially appealing during winter, when many customers look for meals that feel filling and comforting.

Staying True to the Brand

MR. MONSIEUR reflects how MR.SUB approaches new menu items. The brand aims to improve everyday favorites rather than replace them. By drawing inspiration from a French classic while using familiar ingredients and methods, MR.SUB adds a small touch of elegance without moving away from its roots.

The sandwich keeps the welcoming feel the chain is known for, offering comfort food that feels a bit more special without trying to become fine dining.

When and Where to Find It

MR. MONSIEUR will appear at participating MR.SUB locations across Canada starting January 12, 2026. The sandwich will remain available for a limited time, giving customers a chance to try this new take on a classic before it leaves the menu.
